Can't Delete Huge Text Thread

Hi. I have a thread in the default text messaged app that I want to delete. However it is 40000 texts long. When I go to delete it my Fairphone glitches and can’t do it. How do I erase this gigantic thread?

If it is a fault of the App and deleting SMS still works in general …

MyPhoneExplorer (Windows only or try Wine on Linux) can delete SMS on your phone.
If 40.000 wouldn’t work in one go, you could conveniently select smaller batches to delete with this.
