Camera icon should be on the start screen

How can I install the camera icon on my start screen? It takes so long to go into the list of apps, find the camera app and open it. These are 6 steps until I can take a photo. On my FP3, it was just 2 steps, with the app icon on the start screen

You should be able to press-hold the camera app icon from the “app drawer” (where you probably find it now) and drag it to the start screen (and release it there). Or did you mean the lock screen? And I think If you use the camera often, it might also show up in the bottom row by itself after a while.

Hi!
Are you running Android or /e/os? Depending on the launcher, usually holding the app form the list let’s you put it in the start view.
If you are running a Android, within the lock screen settings you can even enable a shortcut to start it without unlocking the screen (down in the corner) and also by double tapping the unlock button. Not sure on /e/os

Thanks a lot! I’m running on Android and it worked well as you described.

Thank you! It worked well as you described. I’ll be using the camera often, so it’s good to have it on the start screen right away

This feature is bundled in android since android 10,

Press start button twice when your device screen is off and your camera app will start.

In case you have 2 or more camera apps installed you will be greeted with dialg asking which app to use as default for this action.

Hope that solves for you

Thank you, it’s solved now!
