Buttons on protective case and car windscreen holder

Hi there,

I have a fp6 and have two minor issues.

Problem 1:
This first is that I cannot seem to fit the fairphone into my phone holder that attached to the windscreen. The clamp that holds the phone in place presses the down volume button. I’ve got two windscreen clamps and both press in at exactly the location of the down button.

Do fairphone have a known solution for this? Or does anyone know of a windscreen clamp that doesn’t have this problem?

Problem 2:
As a result of problem 1, the button in my protective case has popped out and gotten lost. This kind of solves problem 1, since the lack of button on the protective case means that clamp that holds the phone in place is no longer pressing on the down volume button. but it also means that I can’t press the down button myself, when the case is on. Can I replace the buttons on the protective case? Or will I need to buy a new case?

I would attach pictures that I took the time to take to explain my issue more clearly - but apparently new users cannot embed media. :person_shrugging:

Thanks in advance. Loving everything else about fairphone so far

I took it out by purpose, because of the screenshot “issue” and it is possible to still use the button while a bit uncomfortable plus ypu can just adjust on the screen just click the Vol+ Button

Should you have 3D Printer, maybe? Else thwy are not a spare part to buy. And you might encounter the same again, so a third party case might be better for you

Thanks for the quick response

Sadly I don’t have a 3D printer but the idea of just pressing the up button and then changing the volume on the screen seems reasonable. I just hope I don’t lose the up volume button!

Are these button some kind of standard button? Is there no way I can get a replacement from somewhere? It seems kind of antithetical to the FairPhone ethos to have parts that are not easily replaceable - albeit somewhat small pieces of an accessory.
