Broken volume button

The Volume Up button on my Fairphone 6 just broke and fell out completely. I’m looking for guidance on how to replace this part myself, since Fairphone is known for repairable/modular design.

Specific questions I have:

  1. Is the volume button assembly a separate spare part I can order from Fairphone’s official spare parts shop, or is it part of a larger module (e.g., combined with the power button or side frame)?
  2. Does anyone have a link to the official spare part / repair guide (iFixit or Fairphone’s own guide) for the Fairphone 6 volume button?
  3. What tools are needed for this repair?
  4. Is this covered under warranty, or does it count as accidental damage?

Any help, links to repair guides, or personal experience with this exact repair would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

hello
I moved your post here, please read above.

  1. The volume button is not provided separately by Fairphone -it is a part of a larger module
  2. There is no official guide - it is not user replaceable
  3. Asfaik, all the cases were treated within warranty, users had their phones repaired
  4. There are some DIY solutions with 3D printed buttons, but also some stories of failed repair - please proceed with caution.

The lower volume button of my FP6 also fell out today after being sporadically stuck for a few days before.

Support chat is not helpful and there are no spare parts available.

I’ve had FPs since FP3 and unfortunately I have to say that this one will be my last.

Just found a tutorial to print the button
