Brightness control?

I am new to Fairphone and it seems a nice bit of kit.

One thing I am struggling with is the brightness control, which is set as low as possible but is still eye melting when it’s dark.

Does anyone know of a way to reduce the brightness further? There seems to be some apps, but so many of them and I have no idea which to trust (coming from Windows Phone this seems bizarre).

I use YAAB (yet another auto brightness) to reduce brightness at night.
It has many functions like night mode and brightness range but I actually prefer to just use the manual mode.
