i ve tried resetting the phone to factory reset, but still the bluetooth won’t turn on. In the forum I can not find fairphone 6 questions about this,
when i did the factory reset, the phone said there was corrupt data, and after five times of clearing that, i chose ‘retry’ and it finally actually resetted.
In the PHONE app, dial * # * # 2 8 8 6 # * # * to access a broad range of hardware tests. Something there should allow you to check the functionality of bluetooth hardware.
the bluetooth doesnt turn on. maybe the rain got into the phone and corroded the physical part? its just a big hassle, since some apps (like the one I use to rent a car with, mywheels) uses bluetooth.
it rained, so there was a drop here and there (not as much as in my shoes, where my socks tried to vainly absorb all the water). troubleshooting widely i didnt disregard it as an option.
what i also saw is that i was behind with updates. i thought those would be installed automatically, but apparently i dropped a ball there since july? so i installed them
but that didnt work.
i havent opened the phone yet, and I m not sure what i d be looking for if i did. i ll check out the link you shared regarding the waterwiki, thanks.
remote troubleshooting is a challenge and I have no means of diagnosing water damage remotely, but please know
if there is any liquid still inside your phone and you keep using it, you are damaging your phone as we speak, the longer it lasts, the higher damage - of the irreversible kind.
ok so i finally got to a place with fitting tools to open it up and yes that was a good idea.
i hope that by opening it up and dissassembling the screen, the battery and then letting it sit for two days straight on an well ventilated dry space helped. So far so good with assembling it, I’m hoping it’ll be happy. so far so good.
