Battery stuck at 0%

I’m in a bit of a pickle.

I’ve tried two different charging cables, charging from USB and the wall. The phone turns on (eventually) but doesn’t charge. The charging icon has the lightning bolt, but the lightning bolt icon stays there even when the phone is unplugged from the charger. The LED is not solid red, but it slowly turns on and off every few seconds (to say it’s on and <15% battery, I think). If I try to open apps or do anything too demanding it turns right off again.

I had this problem yesterday but was able to get it to charge by pushing the charging connector attached to the phone so it was at an angle. The LED went solid red and it began charging up pretty soon after. When I try the same thing again today, nothing happens.

If I leave it off and try to charge it, the LED flashes red for some time before going solid and displaying the blue battery charging up animation. But when I turn on the phone again it’s back at 0%.

I’m not sure what to do or what the problem is, any ideas? Support aren’t going to be much help, are they… should I try to contact them anyway?

Thank you wonderful people!

Could be a broken bottom module. If you contact support, run through the troubleshooter first (the bottom module test talks about playing music - I’d test charging instead), and if necessary contact support using the tips at the top of the guide for #contactsupport.

hmm, troubleshooter says the battery has a defect

I would have gone for the bottom module as well.
Maybe you could try to contact one of the #fairphoneangels in your area to check, if changing the battery or the bottom module does the trick.

I’m not in Europe at the moment but I’ll try that as soon as I get back, thanks

Guys! It’s OK now!

I dropped the phone on the floor a few times and now it’s working again!!

Glad it worked out for you I’m just not sure if marking “dropping the phone on the floor a few times” as the solution is a good idea.

One step further, and it is like
