My problem started with my phone turning off suddenly.
Could not start it up again
After leaving it on the charger for a night and trying to get it started the next morning it finally did .
then it charged to 100 % but after that it did not charge again
I had this problem of not charging last september too. I then was able to solve it with removing the battery and putting it back in and start it. That solved the problem then. I tried this several times now but it does not solve the problem now.
Could you check if there is some debris in the usb port?
Is perhaps the charging cable broken or the charger faulty?
No, ofcourse i checked it all

Do you do that regularly ?
How long have you had the battery (is it the original?) I’m thinking you might be needing to replace the battery if you regularly leave the phone to charge overnight and to 100% (not recommended).
Welcome to the forum.
It is the original battery. i bought my phone in 2021.
Yes I always charge it in the night, when I go to bed I plug in the charger and in the morning it is 100% Is that not good?
how do I check that?
See if you can charge another phone?
No, not good for the battery. Ideally the charge level of Li-ion batteries, of whatever size, should be kept between 20% and 80%. The FP5 comes with software to optionally limit charge to 80%, and this is becoming common with other manufacturers such as Asus.
On the whole I’d say it’s done you pretty well. You should definitely check the battery for any signs of swelling. Use the “spin test”:
- Remove the battery and lie it flat on an horizontal smooth surface such as polished table or kitchen worktop.
- Try to get it to spin. If it does more than a half-turn you should replace it, it may be dangerous to continue using it.
If required, replacement batteries are available from the FP online store.
I already did that. I thought you meant the C port in my phone
Hi, thank you very much for this information!! my phone is charging again, don’t know how that happened. I did the test you suggested and it is not spinning more than a half-turn. So now I will follow your charging instructions. Thank you very much again. I wonder why FP does not give me this information. I also sent in a request but they did not suggest any of this.
Hello, and welcome to the Forum.
I had erratic issues with charging my FP4 in the summer of 2024, which I managed to resolve. Details are available by searching for my posts.

Hi AndrewM. I thought the problem was solved but it is not. I looked for your messages but only found your message where you are talking about the c-port. Yesterday I found out by opening the phone that the c-port is broken. So I will order a new one.
