I would assume it has to do with the plethora of issues in how the camera isn’t accessible through the official APIs.
Still, yeah, this has me essentially looking into getting rid of my Fairphone and buying another one, more or less exactly what this phone should not be about. But I need ARcore on at least one phone I own - and I have no use for owning two phones.
I guess the people in this forum, who are only users of Fairphone, will never be able to answer those questions.
Maybe unless they #contactsupport, get an answer and care to share the response here.
this niche topic will be at the bottom of the developer’s priority list. there are currently and again and again completely different problems that need to be tackled.
I bought the Nreal Air glasses, they need the phone to have usbC 3.0 with display port, but also other features in the processor to fully work. I wonder if anyone have already tried this setup and can share the experience. did it worked? just de screen casting or the AR experience as well?
Finally an answer… I didn’t even thought about ARcore. Thank you!
I would love to move to fairphone but in this case it wouldn’t make sense. I’ll wait for the next version hopefully with the increase of AR products this year, they understand that both DP and ARcore will have to become standards. And because both are not new technologies I believe the licenses wouldn’t increase a lot the final product let’s wait and see.
