I am not particular waiting for 7 however there are no security update anymore since a very long time now unfornately.

Indeed, Android 7 has been our main focus for the last 6 months and we had to shift our attention away from Android 6. We are sorry it lasted for so long but we kept an eye on outstanding security issues in case we had to patch Android 6 urgently.
