I agree with you. The words were probably āAndroid 16 is expected later in 2025ā, as mentioned above and as we can verify through the Wayback Machine (August 4th / December 19th).
Even though it is not a binding promise, I do not think it is very āfairā to change the FAQ by delaying the planned date by a year without adding any comments to the text and directly deleting the previous text.

I do still have to wonder what kind of marketing genius came up with the name āThe Fairphone (Gen. 6)ā and expected anyone outside of the company to call it that. Itās hardly going to stop me from getting either āGen. 7ā or āGen. 8ā to replace my FP4 one day, but still, what silly nonsenseā¦
I saw this aswell today! The only question is what āsoonā is. Hopefully it will come in the Febuary/March update, which should come out āsoonāā¦
Is the FP6 A16 expected to have a Security Patch more recent than the current e/os (February)??

I think by āsoonā they meant something along āthe next update if nothing blows upā. The next update would be the March update - my guess would be around mid-March with a staged rollout that reaches everyone by the end of March - or at least Iād hope they went a bit more conservative after the experience of the A15 updates for FP4 and FP5.
Iām so happy about this one, canāt wait to use it on my Gen. 6.

I donāt think weāll get a sneak peek. However, I think it will probably closely resemble stock Android 16. Look it up to get an idea of what to expect.
Tweakers are reporting that A16 for the Gen. 6 will start rollout from tomorrow already! I remember they mentioned April, so cool that itās earlier then we all expected. Sweet!
