Android 15 is Now Rolling Out to Fairphone 4! šŸ“² (FP4.QREL.15.14.3.20250923)

After the update I have a few issues. The phone seems really slow. Taking noticable longer to take pictures and opening apps.

and the second this is that when playing Whatsapp Voice memo’s (which I do a lot), the phone stops the voice memo or reduces the volume when I put the phone in a pocket. I tested it and It seems that when I cover the selfie camera it stops.

Please help.

Hi, any official update on the issues some people experienced after the update (random reboots, launcher crashing for Orange users, of which I am)? I’m trying to postpone the update, but I guess at some point my phone will install it automatically. It has been spamming me with update notifications for days…

By ā€œofficial updateā€ I mean: Is Fairphone aware of those issues, are they already working on a fix, and if yes, is there any estimated time of arrival for it?

I’m not getting impatient, I just want some information so I can plan how to handle this - Phone connectivity is (professionally) vital for me, I can’t afford to have my phone get unreliable.

Thanks.

Many other A15 version have this feature to switch off the suggestions.

If this is the case, you (professionally) are now getting your backup device ready to switch over to it, should the need arise.

Thanks for the update. The leek slipped once at the beginning, but that was it. So far, so good.

I’m having the same performance issues as well. The phone was becoming borderline unusable it was so slow when I had no issues before. I cleaned out some storage space as I was above 90% full, which helped a little bit, but it’s still significantly slower than on Android 14.

Android 14? I don’t believe that.

Wait for some charging cycles and reboots and see if the performance gets better again. I had such behavior after major updates in the past with completely different brands, models and Android versions.

You mean Android 13, because Android 14 was skipped.

Ah, I didn’t realise, my mistake.

Thanks, I have restarted a few times with no luck, but hopefully it does sort itself out.

You cannot force it nor is there a number of reboots after which the situation will stabilize. I would give it some more time and patience…

The update went flawlessly, I don’t see any problem till now

I’m noticing the same thing with apps being killed aggressively. It doesn’t seem related to a battery thing either. Most annoyingly, it keeps occurring with my home launcher even after changing from Microsoft Launcher to Nova.

After upgrading to Android 15, I can’t connect to my Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 anymore. I have tried to delete the Bluetooth connection, clear cache of the Samsung Wearable app, etc. No luck.

Hm, my Watch4 works without problems. Strange

Watch 4 works without problems with FP6/A15 too.

Got the update yesterday night. Took some time to install but seems to have succeeded. No issues with performance so far, but for some reason the phone can’t access my sd card any more and pushes me to format it. I tried to switch off the phone and remove / reinstall the card, clean the pins but no avail. Other card readers can read / write without issues so the card itself should be fine. Anybody else with this issue?

I strongly advise you to backup everything on the SD card right away.
Then you could consider to format the card.
Make sure you use the SD card as external storage.
Don’t choose internal storage, because you will loose everything you put on the SD card.

Updated my FP4 few days ago, update itself went smoothly. After update, first start, phone rebooted by itself almost immediately after unlocking both SIMs and the lock screen. I also got hit by the BT devices deletion, had to re-pair all my BT things - not a huge problem, but a bug for sure..

Also had a few random reboots as well in these two days.. Overall not the smoothest update so far, hoping for fixes in the near future..
