Advice against ferrous dust ingress

Hi!

I work in an industrial workshop where there is ferrous dust (read as magnetic) in the air. While I have been able to ad hoc a solution using masking tape and checking it, and it works relatively well. If anybody has experience with this and has advice for this it would be appreciated.

I run FP5 now, and due to the memory market tightening for possibly the next 10 years, I would like to be ahead of that rat race, and so was wondering if the FP5 is better or worse than FP6 in ingress protection. The Fairphone 5 is great, but the only thing I want that still is on the main board is the microphone, and I know it is still on the main board of the FP6. As of now 2,5 years since new, “only” the microphone has issues, likely due to ferrous dust.

I was going to check the parts availability for the FP6 but seems fairphone.com is down right now.

Any thoughts that I might also want to consider?

A dust-tight smartphone pouch or bag (IP6x, most waterproof ones should have this).

Works for me.
