ACR Call recording

Could someone test if ACR works with Android 9 if it is unlocked? I know Google despotically closed the feature down from Android 9 making ACR fail - the question is, does ACR still work if the phone is rooted? I don’t want to lose the ability to record calls as it is a useful thing to relisten to things.
