Access to FP2 over USB

Connecting FP2 for photo access (Foto-overdracht PTPT)) is not working properly
If I’m lucky I see three folders in the SD-Karte von SanDisk under FP2
.thumbnails
DCIM
Pictures
Most of the times these folders are empty

But, when connected via USB, you do swipe down and select the connection mode (most common for file transfer would be MTP, but PTP is available, too)? …

USB connection to PC: FP2 icon appears, but "this folder is empty"

When connecting the phone you’ll get a notification on your phone as well. Tap on it and you’ll see different options what the phone can do with this USB connection. Default should be charging only, so you’ll need to switch to MTP, then your files should be available again.

Which OS do you use on the computer (Windows/Linux/MacOS)?

And if you kept the SD card as external storage (as opposed to integrating it into Internal Storage), you are sure that your camera App is saving the photos on the SD card and not in Internal Storage?

Maybe it’s saved under /sdcard/0/DCIM instead of /name-of-external-sdcard/DCIM. Maybe it’s also saved in some different folder like unter …/pictures/. Which photo app do you use?
